There are many swimming programs that communities offer that many of the local residents may not be aware of. When it comes to swimming, we have already discussed preventative measures that homeowners can take to prevent such accidents from happening, like drowning. Teaching your children how to swim, no matter what age, has become one of the easiest ways to prevent drownings from occurring. Communities are proactively coming together to provide these free programs to local residents and we want to spread the word!
Swimming Lessons Are Important For Everyone
The Boynton Beach City Council last week unanimously renewed an agreement with the Palm Beach County Drowning Prevention Coalition to provide free swimming lessons for poor children at the John Denson Pool at Wilson Park, 225 N.W. 12th Ave.
This is great news for Palm Beach County. Wally Majors, the city’s parks and recreation director, shared that “Florida leads the nation in drowning, so we want to do anything we can do to provide more safety for children”. Even if you do not live in Florida, there are other communities that host similar programs. Contact your swimming pool provider or local government to find out more information about these programs. You never know how much this could benefit your children and family.
