When deciding on renovating or upgrading your existing swimming pool, there are many ways in which you can do so. Many items that you include when building a pool may have new versions available to upgrade your existing ones or you simply may be looking for a new design. Homeowners do not want to rush into this when it is not needed nor do they want to wait too long to have to remodel their swimming pools which could ultimately result in other long-term issues.

Most clients remodel their swimming pools every ten to fifteen years, depending on whatever new technology may come out. With the newer systems such as the salt generators, remodeling does not have to happen as frequently. Another note to take is that when many people are going through these remodels and upgrades, homeowners are also upgrading their pumps to the new and improved energy efficient pumps.

It is important to understand that there are quite a few things that must happen behind the scenes, even during a remodel. It’s so imperative to find the right contractor that knows the laws and regulations of their city and state inside and out. Things can constantly change and if your team is not aware, this can cause great delays in the construction process. When it comes to permits and inspections, both which are legally required to complete a construction job, but it can vary drastically depending on each municipality.

If you are happy with your current swimming pool, but still want a refresh to the space, there are definitely plenty of options you can explore outside of remodeling the actual pool such as adding an outdoor kitchen, new patio furniture or even some stunning landscape. Landscaping can be done on various scales and really brings some extra life through the gorgeous flora and fauna additions. Whether you add some colorful flowers or plants to brighten up your backyard, plant some trees to give you a new-found privacy of your new sanctuary or simply add in some of your favorite fruits and vegetables; new landscape will really allow for you to have an elevated experience. Outdoor kitchens can be as grand or minimal as you’d like. Add a pergola or tiki hut to take it to the next level.

Another subtle option to spruce things up is with LED pool lights. They are versatile, yet still allow you to update the design of your pool in a cost effective manner. These lights give you the ability to increase the style of your swimming pool while adding something that is highly functional. Guests can now enjoy swimming at night in a safer, more visible environment. Adding lights around entry or sitting points in the pool can provide more safety for swimmers.

These are just some of the possibilities, but we recommend setting up a free consultation with our Treasure Pools team to learn what may be best for you. See some of our recent remodel jobs in this post for some inspiration!
