As we head into the new year, most of us set up some type of resolution. We are here to tell you that for 2018, we encourage everyone out there to take a dive head first into your swimming pool and utilize it to meet all your getting in shape new year’s resolutions! Resolutions don’t have to be a drag. There are several ways to get in shape or maintain your health by using your pool.
Overall, swimming is a great form of exercise and is low impact for those that may have certain ailments. It’s a great form of recovery for those injured and still looking to stay in shape as best possible. Swimming burns calories, so helps you lose weight and swimming for weight loss has been regularly noted for its cardiovascular health benefits, especially for older people. As swimming uses so many muscles in your body, your heart and lungs must work hard to supply them all with oxygen. As you build up your heart and lungs to be stronger, you will be able to swim for longer.
Swimming provides a resistance, which is great for exercising. This is great for all parts of your body, but especially your upper body. As you continue to build muscle, you will also burn fat. The good news is that even after you finish swimming, you will continue to burn calories as your body uses energy to recover and rebuild muscle tissue.
